Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) is one of the super duper hit reality shows in the Indian television history and the biggest credit of show’s success goes to the host Amitabh Bachchan. When the show first aired in 2000, it beat all the prime time shows in 9 pm’s slot. Poeple went crazy to see the megastar interacting with the common people as a host.
Though the makers of the show tried to replace Big B with Shah Rukh Khan but due to dropped TRPs they had to return to their old host Amitabh Bachchan only. Except 3rd season that was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan has hosted all the seven seasons.
The makers are now trying to experiment once again in the ninth season of KBC. As per the sources, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor who will soon be seen in ‘Jagga Jasoos’ with Katrina Kaif might be seen hosting KBC season 9. Though no official announcement has been made yet, rumor mills have already declared that the ‘Shahenshah’ of the Bollywood will be replaced by Ranbir Kapoor.
In 2013, during an interview, Ranbir Kapoor showed his wish to work as a host on TV and said, “It’s a good thing that TV is doing really well. I like Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss, Amitji’s (Amitabh Bachchan) Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). If given a chance, I would like to do a quiz show like KBC. I would like to explore TV as well.”
Well, we have seen Ranbir Kapoor hosting award shows and there is no doubt that it is delight to watch him as a host. But can he make a good host for a reality show like KBC? What is your opinion?
