Krishnavataram Part 1: Hridayam’s Stellar Box Office Journey Continues with ₹1 Crore Friday Haul
Leading man Siddharth Gupta shines in the spellbinding saga Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam), which continues to captivate audiences at the box office. Despite a slight dip from its grand debut, the film secured a handsome ₹1 crore on its second Friday. This brings the eight-day cumulative net to an impressive ₹12.65 crore.
The film aims to reel in an additional ₹5 to ₹6 crore over its second weekend, setting its sights on a total haul of ₹16 to ₹17 crore. By the close of this week, the fantasy epic hopes to surpass the ₹20 crore mark. Yet, to achieve the coveted ‘hit’ status, the film needs a continued robust performance given its cast and release scale.
A Tale of Two Avatars
Last year, audiences were treated to the animated hit Mahavatar Narsimha, which highlighted two of Lord Vishnu’s avatars. This film saw an explosive climb from an initial ₹1.25 crore on day one to a whopping ₹6.25 crore by Sunday, culminating in a ₹170 crore net in Hindi. Krishnavataram, a live-action narrative focused on Krishna, hasn’t quite matched that meteoric growth.
Yet, the unpredictable nature of cinema is always full of surprises. Consider last year’s Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayate, which lingered in the shadows for three weeks before suddenly ascending. The box office, much like the stories it showcases, can be full of unexpected twists!
