Shah Rukh Khan to Get ‘Crystal Awards’ at World Economic Forum

Shah Rukh Khan is once again going to make India feel proud. The actor’s name has been selected for ‘Crystal Awards’ at the 48th World Economic Forum. The King Khan will be honoured with the coveted award at WEF annual meeting on Monday evening.

Shah Rukh Khan will be honoured with ‘Crytal Awards’ along with Australian acress Cate Blanchett and legendary musician Elton John. The event will be organized in the small ski resort town on snow-covered Alps Mountain for five days starting from January 22, 2018, where around 3,000 world leaders from entertainment, academia, civil soceity, arts, business and politics will make their presence.

The World Economic Forum’s website stated, “Each of them in their own way has taken action to uphold human dignity. The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of January 22, 2018, launching the annual meeting. It will serve as a marker of the intention of the meeting and as a reminder to us all of our responsibility to act with respect, generosity and compassion.”

Talking about Shah Rukh Khan and his good deeds due to which his name has been chosen for the award, the website said, “Shah Rukh Khan is one of Bollywood’s most prominent actors who has been at the forefront of the Indian film and television industry for over 30 years. He is the founder of the non‐profit Meer Foundation, which provides support to female victims of acid attacks and major burn injuries through medical treatment, legal aid, vocational training, rehabilitation and livelihood support. He has also been responsible for the creation of specialized children’s hospital wards and has supported childcare centres with free boarding for children undergoing cancer treatment.”

The event will start with a welcome message on the meeting’s theme, ‘Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World’ and PM Narendra Modi’s opening plenary address on Tuesday.
